Barbados is renowned for its stunning beaches and rich cultural heritage. However, beneath the surface lies a community facing significant challenges—particularly among its youth. These challenges reveal why DAPA’s presence, faith-driven mentorship, and outreach initiatives are not only timely, but essential.

The Heart Behind Our Mission: Barbados in Crisis

Gun Violence

In 2024, the country experienced a 158% increase in murders, with 34 of the 49 murders involving firearms—the vast majority linked to young men. — Barbados Today

Poverty Rate

Approximately 17% of the population lives below the national poverty line, with a new assessment survey underway as of 2024. — Barbados Today

educational gaps

While the overall lower secondary school completion rate is 95.5%, only 89.4% of males complete school. Additionally, just 36% of students passed Mathematics in 2024. — OECD, CEIC Data, Barbados Today

Chronic Illness

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) account for 80% of deaths in Barbados, with around 40% of adults living with at least one chronic illness. — Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation

  • Overview:
    The 2026 DAPA Mission Trip is a purpose-driven week of faith, service, and cultural immersion in the nation of Barbados. Participants will engage in youth mentorship, leadership development, community outreach, and evening worship services all designed to inspire transformation, unity, and purpose.

  • Schedule Breakdown
       •    March 22 (Sunday):
    Arrival Day: Participants arrive in Barbados and check into accommodations.
    Evening: Optional worship service (part of the 30th Anniversary Celebration with local ministry partners).
       •    March 23 (Monday)
    Welcome & Orientation Session: Official kickoff, introductions, and spiritual preparation.
    Afternoon: Light cultural immersion or local community visit.
    Evening: Optional worship service (Anniversary Celebration).
       •    March 24–28 (Tuesday–Saturday):
    Mission Activities & Service Engagements
       •    Youth mentorship and sports-based outreach
       •    Community service and compassion projects
       •    Prayer walks and local faith initiatives
       •    Cultural learning and immersion experiences
       •    Optional Evening Worship Services: March 22–29 (Anniversary Celebration)
    Saturday, March 28 — Excursion & Celebration Day
       •    Daytime: Optional shopping, sightseeing, or recreational excursion.
       •    Evening: Optional 30th Anniversary Gala Celebration with ministry partners.
       •    March 29 (Sunday):
    Worship & Reflection Day
       •    Optional morning worship service (Anniversary Celebration closing).
       •    Afternoon: Reflection and preparation for departure.
       •    March 30 (Monday):
    Departure Day — Travel home.
